Nice to meet you

Jonathan was born in Wales, UK where he obtained his undergraduate degree at Swansea University. Having immigrated to the US for the pursuit of better weather, he settled in San Diego, California, where he obtained both his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology.

After graduation, Jonathan spent time working as a grief therapist at Grossmont Hospital, before transitioning to Alvarado Parkway Institute and Bayview working with adults with chronic and severe mental illness. Jonathan has years of experience working with individuals with Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and substance use issues. Jonathan believes that respect for the clients is a cornerstone of his therapeutic orientation, setting treatment goals with the individual to achieve the best outcomes. Jonathan uses interventions based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while always using a person-centered approach.

Jonathan played football (Americans call it soccer) at a high level in the UK and in his free time, continues to play in a competitive league in San Diego. Jonathan also enjoys playing tennis, running in Balboa Park, and making pizza. Jonathan has traveled the world extensively, including many trips back to the UK to visit his family and friends. He looks forward to traveling again in the future.

Everyone needs empathy. Compassion is something that we give and receive and set a part of life that allows us to heal each other and ourselves.

Triquetra is unique because it offers a diverse and tailored set of treatment programs that works with your day-to-day schedule. We’ve designed our programs to work with you, not the other way around. You’re able to get world-class treatment without affecting school, work, or any daily obligations. So there’s no need to compromise the things that matter most, like living a fulfilling life and coming home to your loved ones. Furthermore, we require significantly less money out-of-pocket than in-patient treatment programs and accept most major insurance companies you probably already have. Finally, our outpatient program is an exceptional alternative for those who won’t compromise quality and genuinely don’t need residential care. And regardless of which treatment option you go with, you’ll have many opportunities to create immediate support structures and networks to help aid you in your recovery.
